Caminia: the emerald bay between history and nature
Located 25 km from the center of Catanzaro, the beach of Caminia is one of the brightest gems of the Calabrian Ionian Coast, rightfully included among the most beautiful beaches in Italy according to Skyscanner (2019).
This bay, protected by two imposing granite cliffs, offers a sheltered and spectacular environment: shallow and crystalline seabeds, light sand tending towards white/ivory, and transparent water that invites swimming and snorkeling.
A beach among cliffs, caves, and legends
Caminia is famous for its hidden coves and sea caves, including the evocative Cave of San Gregorio.
Here, according to tradition, the relics of the patron saint of Stalettì were found, mysteriously arriving by sea.
Not far from the bay, amidst Mediterranean scrub and Byzantine echoes, lie the ruins of the church of Panaja: a place that tells millennia of faith and history.
Untouched sea and landscape
The beach, well-serviced and equipped but never crowded like the large resorts, maintains an intimate and natural atmosphere.
In the background, the Torrazzo Cliff rises steeply, offering splendid panoramic viewpoints and habitats for marine vegetation.
A complete experience
Caminia is the ideal choice for those seeking untouched sea in a prominent naturalistic and archaeological context.
Perfect for families, snorkeling enthusiasts, hikers, and those dreaming of a day amidst relaxation, culture, emerald waters, and the silence of an still authentic Calabria.
