Descrizione evento
Screens Cinema Multipiazza is back, the itinerant film festival organized by the Divina Mania association with artistic direction by Mauro Lamanna and the collaboration of Gianmarco Saurino, which since 2018 has been transforming the popular neighborhoods and suburbs of Italy into open-air cinemas.
After the success of previous years, which involved the squares and neighborhoods of the city of Catanzaro, for the fifth edition the project expands and widens its horizons, involving four regions – Calabria, Sicily, Puglia, and Lazio – and touching six cities – Catanzaro, Cosenza, Reggio Calabria, Foggia, Nicosia, and Longone Sabino – for over twenty free events from July to September.
The focal point of the project, which has seen the quality and quantity of the proposed offer grow over the years, is always to bring great cinema to places where cultural programming is limited or often absent.
The Cinema-van, with its screen installed laterally, crosses the suburbs creating spaces for meeting, training, and celebration, with a rich schedule of screenings, as well as workshops and masterclasses, directly involving local communities and animating the city squares.
Also this year, there will be many exceptional guests accompanying the screenings of Screens Cinema Multipiazza, contributing to making each stage of the festival a unique moment of encounter between cinema, territory, and community.
The fifth edition will kick off in Catanzaro with three consecutive evenings: Monday, July 21, in the Gagliano neighborhood, with the screening of I due marescialli by Sergio Corbucci and the participation of Giuseppe Scoditti; Tuesday, July 22, in Viale Isonzo, with The Pursuit of Happyness by Gabriele Muccino introduced by Giancarlo Commare; Wednesday, July 23, in the Santa Maria neighborhood, Vincenzo Nemolato will present the screening of The Departed by Martin Scorsese.
The programming for the month of July will move to Lazio in Longone Sabino for an evening organized in collaboration with U Cinemittu, the smallest cinema in Italy, where on Sunday, July 27, Luca Marinelli will meet the audience before the screening of a classic of our comedy like I vitelloni by Federico Fellini.
On Thursday, July 31, the Cinema-van will arrive in Sicily, in Nicosia, with The Macaluso Sisters by Emma Dante in the presence of one of the film's protagonists, Donatella Finocchiaro.
Throughout the long summer of Screens Cinema Multipiazza 2025, many other faces of cinema and culture will cross the squares of the festival, accompanying the screenings and meeting the audience.
Among the confirmed protagonists are Laura Adriani, Antonella Attili, the D'Innocenzo Brothers, An...
